Vianney Sivelle
Researcher in karst hydrology
Visiting scientist
Biography
After a master degree in geological engineering, I started working on karst groundwater in Toulouse (PhD) and then in Montpellier (PostDoc). After almost 7 years on karst groundwater, I moved to Italy working on using Earth Observation data for hydrological modeling in Mediterranean Region (MR). Now, I participate to several projects related to hydrology and karst groundwater in the MR and Europe.
Research
My research activities mainly concern (i) assessing combined impacts of climate change and groundwater abstraction on karst groundwater availability, (ii) assessing uncertainties and developing robust hydrological modelling methodologies, (iii) using Earth Observation systems data for hydrological modelling in meso-scale catchments and (iv) inferring groundwater flow process from artificial and natural tracers and evaluating their added values for hydrological modelling.
