Biography

Davide De Santis received the Ph.D. in Computer Science, Control and Geoinformation and the M.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering (cum laude) from Tor Vergata University of Rome (TVU) in 2022 and 2017, respectively. He is currently a researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering and Computer Science at TVU.
From 2020, he is co-lecturer in the “Remote Sensing and Cartography” course at TVU. He is, or has been, involved as scientific advisor in several ESA and ASI funded research projects.
His current research activities are mainly focused on air quality monitoring using Earth Observation data and physics-informed AI algorithms.

Research

Davide aims to develop innovative air quality products consisting of high spatial resolution Aerosols and Nitrogen Dioxide maps obtained by combining Sentinel-5P with currently available hyperspectral spaceborne data (e.g. PRISMA, EnMAP). He will also support the work of the ESA Science Atmosphere Cluster.
